Sonia O'Sullivan appears to be getting back to her best form
Sonia O'Sullivan produced an encouraging display in Thursday's run to mark the 50th anniversary of Roger Bannister's first sub-four-minute mile.

O'Sullivan won in four minutes 27.79 seconds in the race on the Iffley Road track at Oxford University.

The Irish runner was on her own for the last two laps and finished well ahead of second-placed Georgie Clark.

O'Sullivan is in action again at the Balmoral road races on Saturday where her main rival should be Berhane Adere.

She is then scheduled to run in the Manchester 10K on 23 May.

O'Sullivan is appearing to reap the benefit of her four weeks' altitude training in California.

She ran a fast sub-15 minutes 5,000 metres in the States on 1 May, winning at the Cardinal Invitation meeting in Palo Alto.
